Our Story

From the red soil of Memot to kitchens around the world — discover how a simple peppercorn became a Cambodian legacy.

A Journey That Started with a Taste

In 2014, Nir Sela and Anna Cai visited Cambodia and discovered the incredible aroma of local black pepper.

What began as curiosity became a calling: to elevate Cambodian pepper to its rightful place in global cuisine.

In 2015, they built the first fully integrated black pepper processing facility in the heart of Memot — Cambodia’s pepper-growing capital.

Inside the Memot Factory

In the pepper-growing region of Memot, northeastern Cambodia, our factory transforms raw pepper into a finished product with care and precision. Close to the farms, our team hand-sorts, steam-sterilizes, grinds, and packages every batch — combining artisanal attention with modern hygiene standards.

This is where Sela Pepper’s commitment to quality takes shape, right at the source.
